Our Chairman Tim Congdon is mentioned in an article by Cormac Lucey in the Times entitled "Monetarists are not the root of all evil as some economists claim". The article mentions that although monetarism has fallen out of favour since its heyday in the Reagan/Thatcher era, monetarists are still very around and can offer lessons about the impact of central banks on the cost of living today. IIMR Director Ewen Stewart was interviewed live on GB News about his thoughts on the 0.5% growth in GDP for Q4 2025. He made a comparison with the USA, where consistently stronger growth since 2000 has resulted in a substantial increase in average household wealth compared to the UK.
